The Lamb Inn is “A historic Cotswolds pub situated in the beautiful village of Shipton Under Wychwood”. It is run by Peter Creed and Tom Noest “born and bred Cotswold gents” who own several very similar pubs – including The Bell at Langford – which offer a very similar feel and ambience. Both aforementioned pubs also aim to appeal to anyone who wants to spend the day killing birds. A link on the Lamb’s website to ‘Sporting‘ says that “Operating as a commission-free sporting agent, The Lamb can offer anyone staying with us a range of excellent value pursuit days ranging from deer stalking, coarse fishing, driven game birds, simulated game, pigeon shooting, clay pigeon shooting, & walked-up rough shooting.” And for those with an appetite for ‘great fun’ on the cheap, The Lamb says it can “arrange pigeon shooting from hides with the use of magnets or walked-up rough shooting on the larger estates. These days often take place around harvest time or late season, are great fun and can be put together for around £50 a head.” Cheaper than flying out to South America or Spain to kill pigeons on trips offered by other ‘sporting agents‘ for sure…
