Sarah Farnsworth is “a highly respected photographer most often associated with all things countryside, field and sports related.” Ms Farnsworth undoubtedly takes evocative images, but while to many of us ‘all things countryside’ might mean walking, cycling, or birdwatching, to many people listed on bloodbusiness.info it means eulogising the chasing and/or killing of wildlife both in the past and the present. An ardent cataloguer of the Beaufort Hunt and an apparently passionate documenter of people shooting birds out of the sky, Ms Farnsworth’s photographs have been featured in Country Life, Horse & Hound, The Field, Shooting Times, Fieldsports Journal and Gundog Journal. For her efforts she was made 2012 Rural Hero by the Countryside Alliance. The attached image showing two dead pheasants and captioned ‘Colours of the season’ perfectly sums up how shooting supporters think they are all about ‘nature’ but are really so disconnected they see colourful objects rather than once-living individuals…
