Like seemingly every other venue in the worst county in England for raptor persecution, the Hall welcomes the gun-toting guest. Do we want to stay at a hotel that writes “Drop your boots at the door, dogs in the kitchen and guns in the cellar, with our wealth of experience showcasing Shoot and Hunt events”? No, we don’t, we’re out, there’s no way we want to share space with the sort of people left behind ‘to relax’ when the Guns are off Shooting, and who welcome their blood-spattered heroes home after a day spent putting holes into the bodies of small birds. Life’s too short – especially for the grouse lying in bits across the nearby moorland…
