Held in July every year, the Great Yorkshire Show (“four days celebrating the very best of British agriculture”) has always supported hunting. In 2022 (according to their Facebook feed) the Show hosted “7 packs of Beagles, four packs of Harriers, 19 packs of Foxhounds, eight packs of Bloodhounds and three packs of Draghounds”. In 2025 the Great Yorkshire Show again included Beagles, Foxhounds, and Harriers in its livestock and classes section, alongside Working Terriers, with a Special Prize offered to “the Masters of the best hound in this class bred by a pack in Yorkshire or Cleveland as follows: Badsworth Bramham York South, Barlow, Bedale, Bilsdale, Cleveland, Derwent, Goathland & Glaisdale, Grove & Rufford, Holderness, Hurworth, Middleton, Sinnington, Staintondale, York North & West of Yore, and Zetland.” Hunts appreciated the exposure, the Hurworth posting how “they loved being involved…”. Agricultural Shows like these are mainstays of hunting, providing a unique experience for visitors “to meet and learn about hunting hounds.”
