Galton Farm Campsite (Dorset)

“The farm offers self catering accommodation all year round and camping during May, June and August…To the East, West and North, Galton is surrounded by farmland…The farm is organic and it is run by the Messenger family…A footpath runs through the centre of the farm which takes you through breathtaking back to nature farmland which wildlife is seen in abundance [sic].” No, we’re confused by that last phrase too, but the takeaway point is that Galton Farm (aka Manor Farm Galton Farm Ltd according to Companies House) offers ‘rural camping’ and wildlife – but antithetically has also hosted the South Dorset Hunt (SD) for many years (eg Facebook January 2018) . According to a Weymouth Animal Rights Facebook post, “When the SD are hunting around Owermoigne & Galton, they normally meet at Galton Farm. Who not only are big supporters of the SD, they also have a campsite and self-catering accommodation there…please spread the word far and wide, so people know the truth behind this place.
