“Set in the heart of The Exmoor National Park…The Exmoor White Horse Inn is a beautiful privately owned and run 16th Century Inn…Experience the peace and tranquility of Exmoor National Park. Leisurely ramble through its leafy wooded valleys, timeless waterfalls [sic] and extraordinary coastline.”As Action Against Staghunting reported in December 2024, the White Horse hosted the Boxing Day meet of the appalling Devon and Somerset Staghounds. Giving any support to such a pack of abhorrent and violent individuals makes the White Horse’s explanation to visitors that “Care more for Exmoor means that you can enjoy Exmoor while doing something practical to help conserve, enhance and contribute to its protection” sound exceptionally hollow and hypocritical. The Inn followed that up in 2025, taking bookings from an American hunt (the Virginia-based Princess Anne Hunt) who checked into the Exmoor in August 2025 before riding with the appalling Devon & Somerset Staghounds and the Exmoor Foxhounds. So yet another hunt-supporting pub (and there are many) in what is supposed to be a ‘national park’.
