Founded and owned by Lady Carole Bamford, Daylesford Organic has four London stores, as well as a flagship farm shop and spa resort in the Cotswolds. Its products are also listed with the likes of Planet Organic and Ocado. According to a June 2024 article in The Grocer the business has largely struggled to return a profit over recent years, barring a boon period during the coronavirus lockdown. There is money in the family to sort out any problems though. Lady Bamford is married to billionaire Sir Anthony Bamford, whose father founded JCB. They are close friends of Boris Johnson, and Sir Anthony is described as a ‘super donor’ to the Conservative Party. They are long-time hosts of the Heythrop Hunt and hosted the Heythrop Hunt Pony Club in May 2024.
