“Welcome to LONG CLAWSON DOG FIELD… A safe & secure place to walk, run, sniff & play!…We have a 1½ acre secure dog walking field set in open countryside in the beautiful Vale of Belvoir.” Tom and Kate Kingston, owners of this dog field and another in Trent, Notts (advertised on the same website), will be familiar to hunt followers – and therefore of course to hunt sabs and monitors – because he is a Master of the Belvoir Hunt (aka the Duke of Rutland’s Hounds) and she is a hunt supporter and chair of the Belvoir Hunt Supporters’ Club. Mr Kingston (who also runs Clawson Self Store) was featured in a Horse and Hound article in January 2019 which stated that 47 year old ‘Tom was brought up in Surrey Union country, and began hunting at the age of 16″. The charge for using the dog field is £3/ ½ hour for one dog and £1 for each extra dog. Presumably the Belvoir pack are offered a discount, but then again hunt hounds are run ragged most weeks anyway…
