A historical country pub in Somerset, the Carew Arms “boasts fresh country air, picturesque views and a rich and interesting history”. It also boasts a rich history going back decades of hosting the annual Boxing Day meet of the notorious Quantock Staghounds (QSH) and – despite local concerns – was still welcoming the hunt for a pre-kill beverage in September 2024. The QSH are one of the country’s most violent hunts – lashing out at North Dorset Hunt Saboteurs in November 2023, featuring in multiple posts on Protect the Wild, and famously barred from the Anchor Pub in Exebridge.
