Owned by the Duke and Duchess of Grafton (a peerage created in 1675 by Charles II for Henry FitzRoy, his second illegitimate son by the Duchess of Cleveland), “throughout the year, the grounds come alive with a diverse array of cultural gatherings… These events provide an opportunity to explore the picturesque surroundings, indulge in local culture, and create cherished memories with family and friends.” The Hall is a regular meet for the Hamilton Bloodhounds, a ‘clean boot’ pack that doesn’t hunt animals, but the Estate was flagged up in 2012 by Shooting UK when the current Duke – “a keen shot” – took over the pheasant shoot and its fifty drives. Part of the business now includes a ‘Rifle Range’ which is sold as “Whether you’re an individual, part of a club, representing a company, or a firearms manufacturer, the Euston Estate’s convenient location and easy road access make it the perfect venue for your shooting needs.” Killing birds? Norfolk local culture indeed…
