“Our traditional one day Agricultural Show…takes place on the first Wednesday in August every year…and is a celebration of all things Rural and has something for everyone.” Not that you would know it from the Show’s website (which doesn’t seem to mention hunting at all), but that ‘celebration of all things rural’ includes inviting the notorious Eggesford Hunt to cosplay in the main ring, as reported by both Devon County Hunt Saboteurs – who regularly stop the Eggesford from killing the local wildlife – and Conservative local councillor Pru Maskell, who doesn’t seem to. Interestingly the Show’s FAQs say under Are Dogs Allowed?: “Yes – although they must be kept on a short fixed lead at all times”…unless you’re part of an organised crime gang of course…
