“Glamping Under the Stars is award-winning glamping in Co. Laois, Ireland. Offering Family Glamping Holidays, and exclusive hire for Hen Party Glamping.” Landowners are always looking for alternative ways to utilise ‘their’ land. Barry Fingleton, the co-owner of Glamping Under the Stars, is no different in that respect. But in another crucial respect he is very different indeed: he is the Joint Secretary of the Laois fox hunt. The Irish Field hunting directory 2025 gives the contact details for Barry Fingleton at the same address as Glamping under the Stars (and a business email address for Warmbuild, which we have also listed). According to a North Tipperary Foxhounds post on Facebook, “Barry Fingleton…has hunted with Laois foxhounds for more than 30 years.” A photo of Barry Fingleton appeared on the front cover of Irish Horse World in January 2020 with the caption “Barry Fingleton and his daughter…hunting with the Laois Foxhounds from Durrow”. Oddly for such a seasoned fox hunter in a country where fox hunting is still (shamefully) legal, there is no mention of hunting on the Glamping website: it notes instead that Barry “has a love of camping & adventure”…
