“At the Man O’War Bar and Restaurant you can be assured of a truly genuine traditional Irish experience. Our rural setting, iconic thatched building and relaxed atmosphere create a unique unforgettable experience.” The Man O’War is proud of its long history and all the events that take place there, but – oddly – there is no mention of its long relationship with fox hunting or that it regularly hosts fox hunt meets. The pub was previously owned by Martin McNulty, and a photo accompanying a 22 November 2019 Irish Field report showed hunters outside the Man O War Bar and Restaurant, including, on horseback the aforementioned “proprietor Martin McNulty”. The Irish Independent reported on 11 February 2025 that the pub is now owned by Erica Masterson. A photo accompanying a 10 November 2023 Irish Field report showed “The Fingals [Hunt] at The Man O War Bar” with riders including Erica Masterson. A 15 November 2024 Irish Field report titled ‘New Dawn for the Fingals‘ stated that at the start of their opening meet in 2024, “the followers streamed out of the bar with a new found urgency” and “back at the meet, the hospitality in the Man O War Bar was up to the usual high standard.”
