The Headford’s website states that “the central hub of the hotel is The Lounge” where “hunting prints hang”, and the Hotel is a regular host of fundraisers for hunts including the Ballymacad Foxhounds hunt ball in 2022 and the Meath Foxhounds hunt ball in 2023. Why might that be? The pro-hunt Irish Field provides the answer writing in an article in December 2024 that “Olivia Duff, the owner of the very popular Headford Arms Hotel in Kells, a favourite venue for a hunt ball, was hunting with her daughter Anna…”, adding in typical drooling fashion that during the Meath Foxhounds hunt, a fox was chased by hounds for 20 minutes and another was terrorised “in a large circle over good hunting country”.
