They have established a reputation for producing quality dog foods that consistently offer tremendous value to dog owners.” Gilbertson and Page Ltd brands include Dr John, Gilpa, and Arkwrights, and they may well offer ‘tremendous value’ but they also offer tremendous support to hunts and so-called ‘country sports’. As well as attending the Scottish Game Fair at Scone Palace in July 2025, Gilbertson and Page Ltd were listed as a key sponsor for an August 2025 fundraising ‘dog show’ for the Tiverton Hunt (with Waterman’s Country Supplies, and which was organised by the ominous-sounding The Coursing Crew who say on another page that “Exhibitors must be members of a working terrier club. Terrier breed club or be a hunt terrier man, gamekeeper or pest controller at the time of entry” – ‘sailing very close to the line’ comes to mind when reading that…). Despite being based in Hertfordshire, Gilbertson also sponsored a fundraising event in July 2025 in support of another Devon Hunt – this time the Torrington Farmers Hunt, a notorious fox hunt in north Devon.
