Wood Advent Farm/The Granary (Somerset)

Sounds lovely – but, wait, they’re talking about Exmoor ‘national park’ where almost every acre is shot and hunted over, surely the owners of Wood Advent Fam and The Granary want their cut? Indeed they do. Under ‘Extras’ and accompanied by an image of an old bloke smiling benignly at someone with a gun, people who like killing local birds can find “Game Shooting: Wood Advent Shoot offers clients some of the best high bird pheasant shooting on Exmoor.” Which, of course, is just what almost every other landowner promises shooters in the lead-riddled south west of England…
