“Located amid the rolling hills of the Usk valley, the White Hart village inn is a family pub brimming with character. Whether visiting as a family, a business group or a social gathering, we can assure you of a very warm welcome.” Presumably the same very warm welcome given to the Curre and Llangibby Hunt on Boxing Day 2024? Pretty run of the mill stuff for this part of south Wales actually – ‘local pub welcomes hunt’, won’t ever make the headlines – but more surprisingly is that the meet was given a highly enthusiastic endorsement by a member of the Welsh Senned (the Welsh Parliament) as the attached shows. Laura Ann Jones is Conservative MS for South Wales East and is clearly a passionate supporter of hunting (though her MS profile doesn’t disclose that particular ‘weakness’). We know for a fact that local monitors have explained to Ms Jones that the Curre routinely break the law and that its supporters are known for their aggression. While we can’t speculate why the information she’s been given appears to be routinely ignored, this highly biased display does perhaps partly explain why the Curre appear so ‘bulletproof’…
