The majority of us who don’t want a pair of shooting socks – especially for nearly £50, even if they are ‘Durable and Available with Personalised Options for a Personal Touch’ – won’t have heard of Waring Brooke (‘Knitting British Attire’). In a way that’s a shame as they do make some really nice kit (and have given “blankets, scarves and hand warmers to a local homeless charity”), but on the other hand this is clothing aimed squarely at what had become known as ‘the countryside’ and the people who want to go into it to kill wildlife. Perhaps more pertinently, Waring Brooke have partnered with the Royal Agricultural University, and therefore has to be understood to support the RAC Beagle pack and the disgraceful behaviour of students there. Which from our perspective of course is a no-no…
