Owned by the same family for decades, “You are always welcome at the Waie Inn – the home of great food, beers and wine, along with the exceptional facilities to help you relax, unwind and enjoy this beautiful part of rural Devon.” The Inn has excellent reviews. Presumably that would include one or two from the notorious Eggesford Hunt, which has held its annual New Years Day meet there for years (in 2018 “The annual hamper draw also took place in aid of the hunt funds” according to the Crediton Courier). The Inn welcomed the hunt with a Winter Ball in November 2023 and again in November 2024 (which was – again – promoted by the EHSC – aka the Eggesford Hunt Supporters Club via Facebook). In January 2025 Devon County Hunt Sabs noted the Eggesford again meeting at the Waie, stating on BlueSky that the hunt ‘Killed at this meet two years ago’
