Under relatively new management (August 2025), The Red Lion is a “refurbished 17th century public house situated in the heart of the town, featuring an open fire and menu of homemade cuisine.” Oddly, the new management decided a few months later that supporting fox hunting would be a good idea, welcoming the Cotswold Vale Farmers Hunt on Boxing Day with a bunch of hashtags that ignore what the vast majority think about ‘farmers’ hunts’ and animal abuse. There are around fifty independent shops, cafes, and pubs in the area so there are plenty of alternatives to The Red Lion…
