“The Place for Plants is a specialist and everyday plant centre. We offer expert advice and a range of trees, shrubs and herbaceous perennials.” Proprietors Rupert and Sara Eley could also offer expert advice on the Essex and Suffolk Hunt, with which they are well-connected. They took out a full page advert in the hunt’s newsletter in 2020 and hosted a cub hunt meet of the hunt on the couple’s land in August 2022 which was reported by Suffolk and Essex Hunt Sabs. In September 2024, Sussex Action for Wildlife reported that Eley hosted the same hunt on his land. In December 2024 the hunt were out and an irate Eley was ‘almost arrested by Suffolk Police’ for holding two members of South Suffolk Hunt Sabs ‘hostage and wasting valuable police resources’.
