Unequivocally, the so-called ‘countryside set’ – the people who go out hunting wildlife and shooting birds dead. Lauded by Country Life, an April 2025 review in The Field seemed to think it ‘a good thing’ that the Nevill Arms is a ‘popular Meet for the Fernie Hunt’ and has ‘close relationships with local shoots’. Not one for the wildlife-lover then, unless you prefer your wildlife chased on horseback or full of lead pellets…
