“A classic 12th century pub with rooms, complete with oh-so-cosy corners, impossible-to-choose menus and an atmosphere that’ll have you saying “go on, one more then.” What could they mean by that? Well, the pub does say “Our idyllic location in the Wiltshire Downs is packed full of wonderful things to do with friends or family, whether you love history or being one with nature!” so maybe one more walk around Stonehenge or one more wander looking for wildlife? Or perhaps they are really thinking about ‘one more shot’ or ‘one more pheasant’ perhaps, because The Lamb is very proud of its shooting links, saying under ‘Shooting and Fishing‘ that “Our inn is nestled in a wonderfully central position to many famous sporting estates and fishing rivers. We have a long history of looking after country sports bookings, having previously hosted the Prince of Wales” (who does like a bit of shooting at birds) and kindly suggests that “With low beams and roaring fires, along with two private rooms boasting grand tables and a fully secure gun room with dog showering facilities, dog beds and boot drying racks, let us add something special to your next event.” Not our next event, no, but if you’re into shooting birds…
