“Our store in Highland Scotland is an essential stopping-off point for anyone interested in country sports, as our extensive online collection of sporting attire attests”, says the House of Bruar under ‘Sporting’. Country sports? When on earth did ‘country sports’ come to mean killing wildlife? Whenever it was, the House wants its slice of the pie, flogging clothing that might have found its way into the homes of hikers, climbers, and the like, but instead targets shooters, using ‘models’ draped with guns or thinking wistfully about shooting deer.
