“As the ‘Home of Country Clothing’ we only work with the best brands that support our ethos of contemporary style and superior quality.” What Bruar really sells is ‘country sports’, and this being Scotland of course ‘country sports’ means killing wildlife. ‘The House’ wants its slice of the pie, and under ‘Sporting’ is flogging clothing that might have found its way into the homes of hikers, climbers, and the like, but instead targets shooters, using ‘models’ draped with guns or thinking wistfully about shooting deer. Protect the Wild went to Bruar in May 2026: “We paid a visit to the most vile shop in Scotland…step inside and you will find some of the most sickening displays of animal cruelty on the market.”
