“The Green Man pub has been at the center [sic] of the village of Kings Stag in Dorset for hundreds of years. After changing hands numerous times the pub is now a freehold and in the private ownership of a local family [the Langmeads of Stock Gaylard].” The Green Man says that it “hopes to start processing some of the Langmeads farm’s own meat & venison through the pub very soon.” Listings from Dorset on bloodbusiness seem to almost always somehow end up pointing towards the notorious Blackmore & Sparkford Vale Hunt (BSV) – a hunt banned by its own governing body as a way to try to stem criticism of news reports showing the hunt killing a fox. The BSV can do no wrong in the eyes of its ‘wilfully blind’ supporters and yet again there is a link – The Green Man offered a prize of dinner for two to help raise funds for the BSV in a ‘silent auction’ in September 2024.
