The Golden Lion Hotel in Northallerton has had close ties with the Hurworth Hunt for many years. It hosts an annual hunt party with the Boxing Day hunt starting from outside the hotel. In December 2023 the hunt was there again and published a Facebook post (image attached) with an impassioned plea ahead of the General Election 2024 and an incoming Labour government for its supporters “to TAKE ACTION FOR HUNTING now…Please could EVERY person who supports hunting in any capacity…”.
