There is very little online about the Drake Inn. Like several village pubs we’ve featured on bloodbusiness.info, the Drake appears to have tried Facebook and Instagram but lost interest quite quickly…however, one thing they all have in common and have not lost interest in, the Drake Inn included, is support for fox hunting (which as we have pointed out many times now is still legal across the whole of Ireland). Once again, the pro-hunt Irish Field is happy to spill the bloody beans. In a February 2025 article the Field describes a meet of the Westmeath Foxhounds where the hunting day “ended at Dolores Glennon’s Drake Inn, where the followers re-energised themselves before heading to the Hunt Ball”. The report added that the hunt crossed “the family land of Dolores Glennon, who owns The Drake Inn”. During the hunt in question, foxes were terrorised by the pack of hounds, including one chased for over an hour.
