The Bildeston Crown is “An intriguing Suffolk pub and restaurant with rooms, it has oodles of charm.” Award-winning, the Crown is ‘owned and managed by the Nedging Hall Estate‘ which is owned by the Buckle family. James Buckle was a long-serving (now former as of the 2024/25 season) Master of Essex & Suffolk Hunt (Heather Buckle was pictured by Horse & Hound riding with the hunt in 2015). The Hunt meets at the Bildeston regularly and (as a Nov 23 Facebook post from Suffolk Action for Wildlife describes) it provides hunt followers with alcohol. One of the estate’s Directors is Charles Buckle who runs The Lindsey Rose pub which is also on the estate and which also hosts the hunt.
