“A proper country pub…conveniently nestled in amongst the wheat fields on the edge of one of Bedfordshireโs loveliest villages… There are plenty of great walks around Melchbourne Park so feel free to come and make the day of it โ muddy boots and dogs are all welcome!” Or if you don’t feel like walking, why not bring your dogs and use the St Johns Arms as the base for a hunt…which is what the Cambridge with Enfield Chace did when they were sabbed by the Beds & Bucks Hunt Sabs in mid January 2025. As the sabs explain in their HIT report, this was the country hunted by the former Oakley Hunt and (they say) the St Johns Arms is “a proper bumpkin hideout that was often used to host the Oakley.”
