According to Wikipedia, St Brides Castle is a 19th-century castellated baronial-style mansion in Marloes and St Brides, Pembrokeshire. The current owners are Holiday Property Bond (HPB), “a life assurance bond that delivers holidays for life” apparently. Working out whether HPB or someone at St Brides Castle itself allowed the Pembrokeshire Hunt to advertise an appallingly old-fashioned meet of ‘ladies’ and ‘well-dressed gents’ at the venue in November 2025 is moot – the fact is that this is just another shameful and tin-eared pitch to glamourise fox hunting on the edge of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park which both the Castle and HPB should distance themselves from. And the Hunt should know that writing copy like we’re still living in Victorian times doesn’t actually make what they do acceptable…
