Owned by the Berkeley family, “Spetchley Park Estate is family-run, spanning 3,000 acres of rural Worcestershire. It is rich in history, heritage and has strong Gardening connections.” While the website’s ‘Whats On‘ page lists plenty of family-friendly events, it strangely fails to mention the pheasant shooting that takes place here. You’d have to look elsewhere to find that information, but when you do you find that Spetchley offers “150 – 200 bird days of mixed pheasant and partridge with the emphasis on partridge on the earlier days. Birds will be charged at £50.00 per bird with no VAT.” A supporter tells us that they have found traps on the estate – something else not highlighted on the official website…
