Sherbourne Park is a “4,000-acre prime hunting country estate” between Warwick and Stratford upon Avon. Its owner and director is Robin Smith-Ryland. Described in a 2017 Horse and Hound article as a ‘relic from the past’ who can be found ‘hunting four or five days a week across the length and breadth of Britain”, Smith-Ryland used to ride with the-then Prince Charles at the Quorn Hunt and is a former Director of the Warwickshire Hunt. He is well-known to sabs and monitors, and in March 2024 took the extraordinary decision to lecture the 3 Counties Hunt Sabs in a letter defending fox hunting. The Park is run as an events venue, of which Smith-Ryland is sole Director, and appears on many websites as a recommendation for (presumably unwitting) brides …when it’s not hosting hunts for croquet matches anyway…
