Owned by Alexander David Mungo Murray, 9th Earl of Mansfield, Scone Palace includes a 30,000-acre estate which offers salmon fishing on the River Tay and grouse shooting on its own moor. Unsurprisingly, perhaps, it has been home to shooting lobbyists GWCT’s Scottish Game Fair – sold as “people passionate about the countryside!” in 2024 but in reality looking more like a ‘celebration’ of killing wildlife that attracts a pile of sponsors and rich pickings for a site like this one – for the last 35 years.
