Royal Cornwall Show (Cornwall)

“Every year, for 3 days in June, the best in entertainment, agriculture, shopping and competition can be found at the Royal Cornwall Show…As one of the top agricultural shows in the country, we have the highest level of competition across our hundreds of classes…” The Show’s Facebook site says “If horses are your thing, we have everything, from Showing to Show Jumping.” Oh, and promoting hunts (with the words ‘royal’ and ‘Cornwall’ in the title, of course they do). Hunts regularly parade at the Show – last year it was the notorious Western and Cury Hunts –  and included in the rules for competing to win what organisers call “a coveted Royal Cornwall prize” is this criterion: “Regularly Hunted, Mare or Gelding, exceeding 14.2 h.h., that has been regularly Hunted (in excess of 10 times) with a recognised Hunt in the current season, that is the property of either the Master(s), or a Member, Subscriber or Farmer of the Hunt.” The Show holds ‘The Inter Hunt Relay’ which is “kindly supported by the Kernow Vet Group” and is described as “a fast and intense relay race between local hunt teams.” The Show is held at the previously listed Royal Cornwall Events Centre.
