“Rosanna Wood is a jewellery designer who takes inspiration from the woods, fields and gardens around her home, in Ampleforth, in North Yorkshire.” We wouldn’t ever claim to be design experts, but some of these pieces are rather nice – but a gallery of ‘Country Pursuits‘ with its jockey caps and fox heads labelled as per hunting tradition as ‘fox masks’ suggests that there is more to this than meets the eye. And, lo and behold, Ms Wood took a stall at the Derwent Hunt’s fundraiser ‘christmas fayre’ at the Coachman Inn in November 2024. Considering the Derwent’s ‘interest’ in foxes (this was the hunt caught on film by the Helmsley Monitors blatantly trespassing on Yorkshire Wildlife Trusts’ Chafer Wood Nature Reserve in early 2024) the ‘fox mask’ jewellery takes on a somewhat more sinister aspect…
