“…equestrian event, portrait and commercial photography, based in Somerset. I also provide portrait services for individuals and families, horses and pets, travelling to you rather than working from a studio enabling shoots to take place in the home or in outdoor locations.” Horse riders and horse photographers who don’t support hunting might complain about it being unfair, but the fact is that the ‘equestrian world’ is inextricably linked with hunting and photographers like Rob Bayes proves that point. When he writes on his website “Are you a business looking for promotional images for your social media or website?” and then publishes images from fundraisers for the likes of recently convicted Seavington Hunt (in October 2024 the Seavington was filmed blatantly killing a fox before one of its riders scooped up the body and threw the poor animal unceremoniously into a nearby stream, and on 8 May 2025 Huntsman Duncan Cinnamond plead guilty to illegal fox hunting), the notoriously violent Mendip Farmers and the Weston Harriers, it’s hardly surprising we draw the obvious conclusions…
