Raby Estates owns land and a number of properties including Raby Castle (Co Durham), Raby High Force Hotel and waterfall (Upper Teesdale), and The Wrekin (Shropshire). A supporter who emailed us told us that they were advised that the Castle hosts the Zetland Hunt (a fundraiser for the hunt due to take place in March 2022 was cancelled after pressure from North East Hunt Monitors). The High Force Hotel is more overt about its support for shooting, using a picture of an armed ‘sportsman’ striding across a grouse moor to state “We are surrounded by some of the best grouse moors in the country and we have a wealth of experience in looking after the needs of shooting parties.” In 2022 Raby Farms (i.e. Raby Estate) received almost £700k in subsidies via the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP)
