“The Queen Victoria Inn is your typical country pub placed near the summit of the Mendip hills at almost 1,000 feet above sea level…Whether your local to the area or escaping city life for the afternoon you are welcome to share it with us at the Queen Victoria, you can even bring your dog…”. ‘Mendips’, Country pub’, ‘bring your dog’? Does that suggest possibly ‘hunt friendly’ to anyone else? It clearly did to the notoriously violent Mendip Farmers Hunt, who were found at the pub by Mendip Hunt Sabs in January 2025. The sabs have huge experience of the Farmers Hunt and wrote on Facebook that, “We were extremely disappointed to see the The Queen Victoria Inn pub in Priddy welcome mounted riders from the Mendip Farmers Hunt following their day of illegal fox hunting in and around the village.” Anyone who loathes animal abuse will presumably be extremely disappointed by the Queen Vic too…
