It is the host of the Cheshire Game and Angling Fair which as the name suggests promotes shooting (largely through crowd-pleasing displays by ‘gundogs’) and hunting (through parades of hounds). A full page on the Fair’s website is dedicated to the Cheshire Forest Hunt which notes that the Hunt “has always been one of the very few private packs in the UK whereby there is no committee, and the Masters are the sole managers of the Hunt and its affairs.” Why such a focus on the Cheshire Forest?
