Pennard Hill Farm, “eighty acres of rural Somerset tranquility”, is home to a husband and wife team with over eighty years of farming, hospitality and restaurant experience between them. The farm offers a range of glamping and accommodation – as well as appearing to offer a place for the notorious Blackmore and Sparkford Vale Hunt to meet. North Dorset Hunt Sabs found the BSV here in October 20024, reporting that “the day would last long in our memory as the day the BSV completely lost any empathy for foxes. Riders were even offering round a box of chocolates whilst they watched hounds trying to kill a fox” and a rider “grabbed the harness holding the sab’s body camera. He pulled it so hard the sab became pinned with her back to the gate being strangled by the harness and camera strap. A sab nearby had to intervene again”. Surely this is NOT the sort of hunt violence Pennard Hill Farm wants to be associated with? We’d be interested to know…
