Trenchard Farm, which contains Granary Cottage (advertised for let on an apparently near-dormant Facebook page), is owned by the Skinner family. Robert Skinner is a supporter of the Eggesford Hunt. An example of this support came in January 2025 when the Eggesford met at Trenchard Farm and (as reported by Devon County Sabs) “killed a fox less than an hour” after leaving the meet. While visitors to this site may never even think about visiting Trenchard Farm, they will be more interested to know that ‘nightclub proprietor’ Mr Skinner is listed as Director of the Old Timers Bar in Exeter’s Little Castle Street, and Director of Timepiece Nightclub at the same location. He is also listed as a Director of Party in the Castle Ltd which runs Freshers’ Week gigs in Exeter Castle – we’re assuming at least some of the musicians at these gigs and at least some of the paying guests attending them would be horrified to know they are benefitting such a passionate hunter…
