On the edge of Bodmin Moor, “With its cosy dog friendly bars, huge roaring log fires and sloping beamed ceilings, The Old Inn & Restaurant is Cornwall’s highest Inn and is situated in the moorland village of St Breward.” Hmm. Would that be the same moorland village of St Breward where the kennels of the North Cornwall Hunt are located? One and the same. The hunt regularly meet at the Old Inn and fortunately for the North Cornwall the Old Inn is so hunt-friendly that even as the country was being lashed by Storm Bert in November 2o24 the landlord enabled the hunt to meet before they disappeared off in torrential rain and mud to ‘trail hunt’. It’s worth noting that much of Bodmin Moor is protected SSSI and Natural England has told the North Cornwall to stay off it in the past…
