Run by Desmond Mullock and apparently still active (though perhaps barely), Mr Toads Catering Company says it is involved in “event management,Weddings, Catering and Outside bar services. A friendly hand in hospitality…” Friendly enough, anyway, when Mr Mullock (or Desmond Toad as he is apparently widely known) allowed the Denbigh and Flint to park their hound van in his driveway before they (in the words of North Wales Hunt Sabs) “headed up Cefn Du on the Offas Dyke path. We put the drone up to see which way they were heading. We would say they shouldn’t be laying trails on the Offas Dyke path, but they really weren’t. Our drone was above their so called “trail layers” and they’d forgotten to drag a bit of rag behind them.” When they returned late that day, sabs found “Desmond Toad handing out drinks, Christ knows what it was, but judging by the way Briggsy was riding his horse it was strong stuff.” Mr Mullock’s association with hounds seems to go back a long way – on his near-dormant Facebook page is a 2016 image (attached) of him wearing a butcher’s apron and smiling broadly at a hunt kennel (presumably the Flint’s but the post wasn’t labelled).
