The award-winning Luxury Safari Company “create African dreams with seamless logistics, access to parts of Africa others can’t reach, and the best guides in the business”. Sounds great, but what’s this…Rose Hipwood, the founder and director of the Luxury Safari Company, is a frequent rider with the notorious Duke of Beaufort Hunt, which recently featured in a Channel 4 News expose. Her mother Camilla once dated the future King Charles (who also used to ride with the hunt) and is still frequently spotted as a follower in her car. Ms Hipwood and the Beaufort go back very many years, including being featured in a Tatler report of a Beaufort Hunt fundraiser in 2015 (Camilla has been on the hunting scene for far longer, and was featured in a Tatler report on the Vale of White Horse Hunt Ball in 1995). Pro-wildlife folk might be tempted to note the irony of offering very expensive trips to see wildlife overseas, while supporting one of the most entitled but discredited hunts back home…
