“Louma is an extraordinary place to stay, overlooking the Jurassic coast, where you’ll enjoy fantastic food, vineyards, stables, spa and activities…Whether you’re staying at Louma to simply relax and refresh or are looking for something more energetic, chat to our Guest Relations Team, who can help you decide…” Louma was only incorporated in September 2023 and talks a great deal about the environment and ‘responsibility’. But undermining all that is that they appear to have teamed up with ‘Lamberts Castle syndicate’ – a shoot held on nearby farmland in the small village of Fishpond. There was strong local resistance to this shoot in 2023, but it now appears to have expanded for 2024/25. At the time of listing on here, the shoot manager and landowner are refusing to give residents of Fishpond, any details of actual dates, times or new location. A prior entry on GunsOnPegs referring to Louma has been replaced with a rather looser ‘accommodation is available’ style message which may mean Louma is not actively working with the shoot…if Louma has decided not to be linked with the slaughter of 200 birds twice a week for four months we’ll of course remove this listing – if on the other hand they just don’t want people to know…
