The Logiealmond Estate “is currently owned by Rod and Sheila Flavell. They purchased the 5,500-acre estate from the Mansfield family in 2019. Their vision was to create a year-round destination, including luxury accommodation, a spa, and various country pursuits, investing significantly to restore the estate and buildings.” Various country pursuits? It’s Scotland, the land is open to every gun tourist with a few quid in the bank, so of course they mean killing the local wildlife. Even up in the heart of Scotland non-native birds are lined up by our hosts. “Logiealmond Estate is renowned for its high quality sporting and hospitality driven hunting days. Partridges and pheasants are driven over our deep gullies and present as incredible sport for our guests.” And for shooters who crave the sort of variety that only Scotland can offer how about the disgusting Macnab Challenge, a “prestigious challenge” apparently which calls “for participants to bag a salmon, a stag, and a brace of grouse all within a single day – a thrilling test of sporting skill and endurance.” So not at all about coddled ‘thrillseekers’ being driven to rivers and hills so they can slaughter various species while imagining it takes some sort of athletic prowess? Truly loathsome, the supporter who sent us the information concluded. Yep, truly loathsome indeed. Imagine sharing a dining room or bar with the sort of oaf who thinks that’s fun? No, we wouldn’t do it either…
