“Littywood Farm Ltd is a family farm, owned by George Busby, Steven Busby and Timothy Busby…The family has been producing soft fruit for over 30 years and our strawberries, raspberries and cherries are…distributed to the major British supermarkets through our own Grower’s Co-operative Of Berry Gardens Ltd.” The Farm makes a great deal about its commitment to ‘the environment’ saying “Littywood Farm Ltd takes its responsibilities for wildlife and conservation over all its land very seriously. We ensure that we confirm [sic] to all current legislation where applicable”. Odd, then, that in October 2024 they would host the opening meet of the Albrighton and Woodland Hunt, which is kenneled just a 40-minute drive to the south, as reported (in detail) by Shropshire Hunt Sabs. The Albrighton was issued with a Community Protection Warning in August 2024 for “antisocial behaviour including, trespass, lack of hound control, killing of a muntjac deer and killing of a fox. They have caused damage to property as well as harassment, alarm and distress to residents and landowners.” The Albrighton were back again in January 2025, when it was the turn of Staffordshire Hunt Sabs to find them meeting at the farm. Aside from hosting a hunt whose own grasp on ‘current legislation’ seems fairly tenuous, we have to mention the ‘list’ of wildlife Littywood claimsays is on the farm. Yes, not everyone knows wildlife as well as we do, but if you’re going to claim that wildlife matters to you at least take the time to use the internet to find out how to spell the names of species – and don’t make basic errors like listing ‘speckled wood peckers’ and suggesting that Lapwings are hedgerow birds, because that suggests you’re tickboxing and haven’t a clue what you’re talking about…
