“As well as private hire, we regularly have competitions & events held on our Xcountry Course. Including Hunter Trials, Pony Club, ODE’s and Show X…Our xcountry course is suitable for all ages and abilities, set on beautiful hills and grassland.” As of February 2025, Little Wittington XC says its “Course now closed for Winter. The course will reopen early Spring 2025, weather dependant.” Perhaps that ‘lack of anything going on’ explains why Whittington allowed the Tynedale Hunt to meet on the farm in mid-January 2025 where they were found by Geordie Hunt Sabs. Oddly there is nothing on the Whittington XC website about the hunt or fox hunting, but there is always the HIT Report from the Geordie HS to fill in the gaps. Geordie HS reports are invariably brilliantly written. How about “Most of the supporters looked like they’d climbed out of a vintage postcard, proper “zombie apocalypse” vibes. Some of them looked like they hadn’t been outside since ration books were a thing. How they’re still managing to drive is beyond me” for an on point turn of phrase…
