“The Listowel Arms is a boutique-style hotel run by The O’Callaghan family. The hotel is located right in the centre of this heritage town, which also [sic] known as the “Literary Capital of Ireland”…The Listowel Arms shares your tastes…We specialise in organising birthday parties, weddings anniversaries, christenings and retirement parties.” And hosting hunt fundraiser parties. In February 2025 the Listowel Arms again hosted the North Kerry Harriers. Affiliated to the Irish Masters of Harriers Association, fox hunting (still legal in Ireland) and the Kerry Harriers were eulogised in an article in the staunchly pro-hunting Irish Field in 2022, saying that during a North Kerry Harriers hunt, an unfortunate fox was hunted for over 40 minutes by a pack of 19 dogs. The report outlined how another fox was targeted and “a nice dash ensued over the typical banks and drains of North Kerry” before the hounds “marked their fox to ground”. If the Listowel Arms shares those particular tastes, they certainly don’t deserve to be visited by pro-wildlife customers…
