An Irish Field report in February 2025 relating to the Westmeath Foxhounds stated that Kitty Shanahan is the wife of Westmeath Foxhounds huntsman Niall Dunne who “originally whipped in to the Westmeaths, the Limericks, then hunted the Waterford Old English pack.” A March 2024 report in the Irish Farmers Journal states: “Kitty met Niall on the hunting field…When Niall took a job in the Westmeath Hunt Kennels, Kitty went with him…Happily settled now, they are making the most of every day.” Given that fox hunting is still (shamefully) legal across Eire, this would appear to be yet another horse-lover who has no love for the nation’s wildlife…
